Josep Gual earns his living through comic drawing and illustration. Both occupations are also two of his greatest passions. He openly admires comic authorities such as Alex Raymond, Milton Caniff and Will Eisner, although he has worked on his own style in order to consolidate a firm, invariable and steady line within the precise self-demand in an attempt to excel himself and improve his work everyday.
He started at the exacting Catalonian publishing houses, collaborating with publications of little significance until, through Selecciones Ilustradas, he went on work for Fleet way from United Kingdom. He then started to work for Skywald from United States and after that, for a company from New York: Warren. From such quality leap onwards, we may say his work has been published through the length and breadth of the five continents. It is worth mentioning his work as a cartoonist for Disney, as well as his extensive relations with Central European publishing houses such as Wolfang Wittman, drawing famous comics like Búfalo or James Bond.
However, the comic which has most spread Josep Gual’s reputation is George and Lynne, which he has been illustrating next to the text writer Conrad, who created the characters, for over twenty years. The strip appears on a daily basis uninterruptedly at the British newspaper The Sun.
